Montefalco Rosso DOC

As in many other areas of Central Italy, even in Montefalco the Sangiovese is a widely spread variety deeply linked to traditions. A grape that over the centuries has always been used blended with other varieties, those that the farmers had available in their rows. This habit led to today's production specification rules: other grapes can be added, in addition to Sangiovese and Sagrantino (maximum 20%), this is up to the style of every single winery.

Vinification of Montefalco Rosso DOC "Pomontino"

Pomontino is obtained thanks to a careful vinification of whole berries that ferments spontaneously. The vineyards are about 15 years old. The wine is aged for at least one year in large Slavonian oak casks before refining in bottle for about 6 months. Unfiltered.
