The year 2008 was characterized by a rainy spring, a mild and not too humid summer, and an autumn with significant temperature ranges. Such climatic conditions have allowed for a very good aromatic and phenolic ripening, an alcohol content within the norm, and a relevant degree of acidity. In summary, this vintage has brought wines of great aromatic character, drinkability and crispness.

Montefalco Sagrantino 2008 DOCG

Number of bottles produced: 3.900

The wine’s red ruby colour, bright and luminous, shows a great coherence with its odours which reveal themselves slowly, with intensity and progressiveness. Notes of blackberries and wild berries alternate with spicy and mineral sensations, which gradually become more and more sophisticated and complex. The mouth has a great texture and energy, but at the same time is refined, capable of uniting freshness and potency. The tannin is very much present, but at the same time precise and punctual, never excessive and capable of evolving with class.
